“The eCarTec Munich 2014 was able to extend its lead as the world’s largest and most important trade fair for electric and hybrid mobility again this year. At the moment you will find no other show that reflects the versatility of electric mobility in a similar way. Especially the high proportion of foreign exhibitors was particularly gratifying for us this year. With 40 %, spread out on a total of 28 countries (2013: 14) it was much higher than last year. This was also reflected by the numerous international joint pavilions, such as the presentations from the Netherlands, Finland, China, Korea, Slovenia and Hungary. With around 12,000 trade visitors from home and abroad, the trade fair again recorded a consistently high number of visitors and has caused full halls and satisfied exhibitors”, explains Robert Metzger – Managing Director at MunichExpo Veranstaltungs GmbH and organizer of the eCarTec and MATERIALICA.

Covering 25,000 square meters the exhibitors of the eCarTec 2014 presented the complete range of electric mobility including charging stations and charging infrastructure, battery systems and drive modules as well as electric vehicles of all kinds, eSharing and Mobility Concepts.

At the eLiveDrive – the trade fair’s own indoor and outdoor test area – the visitors of eCarTec got the opportunity to experience electric mobility at first hand. Over 100 electric vehicles could be tested there – including Segways, Electric Scooter, Electric Cars and Commercial Vehicles.

Also Josef Schmid, second mayor of the City of Munich and Head of the Department of Labor and Economic Affairs, was extensively informed about the latest industry developments during his visit on the first exhibition day. “We want to advance strongly in Munich electric mobility in the coming years, because we are convinced that electric mobility will be the mobility the future,” said Josef Schmid on the occasion of his visit to the eCarTec Munich 2014.

A special highlight at eCarTec Munich 2014 and MATERIALICA 2014 were the presentations for the Materialica Design + Technology Award 2014 and the eCarTec Award 2014 moderated by Jan Stecker – moderator of the TV magazine ‘Abenteuer Auto’ from T.V channel Kabel eins.
